About Back Forty Ranch
Our History
Established in 2022, Back Forty Ranch began as a simple 40 acre pasture that is now into its 3rd generation of family ownership and over the years, has transformed itself to what it is today. Although we currently have a short history of producing Katahdin Sheep we are committed to continuing this tradition for years to come. Welcome to the Back Forty Ranch.
Sustainable Ranching Practices
We believe in taking care of the land for future generations. That's why we use sustainable ranching practices such as rotational grazing to ensure that our land and animals thrive.
Growth
Just as our livestock had grown, so had our structural property. This aerial view shows where we were a year later, October of 2023. We added a barn, camper, and pool with a sizable deck to fit the needs of our growing family.
Our Ranching Heritage
We are a family-owned and operated ranch that has been in the sheep business for just under 3 years. Our love for the land and our animals is what sets us apart.
Today
Today our ranch is growing in leaps and bounds! In November of 2025, we broke ground to build our new home.
